YOUR WEEKLY MONEY DILEMMA

So my SixPark investment seems to have been a flop! Does this mean I need to pick a new brokerage company to get my shares transferred to in order to not have to sell them to just buy them back?

So this was one of a few (panicked) emails I received this week from people who had used Six Park to invest their cash. Here are a few things to know...

Six Park (an online investment platform) announced last week they are closing down. Investors have until the 28th of August to decide what they are going to do. If you don’t do anything your investments will be sold and then money will be deposited back into your linked cash account. It’s important to know you will have a tax outcome if the funds are sold (either a capital gain if you’ve made money, or a loss if the portfolio hasn’t performed well).

I think it's important to know it doesn’t mean your investments haven’t gone well (they may have, it depends on what you have invested in). But, as the platform is no longer operating you’re going to need to figure out what you want to do with the money invested.

What next?!

Having read the comms Six Park sent to investors this week, I decided investors needed a longer session where I can explain all of this in more detail, so you can weigh up all your options. So I have made an (emergency) webinar next week to take you through it in more detail. Emergency because you have only a couple of weeks to take action.

If you (or someone you know), is a Six Park investor, below is the link to watch the recording of my free live webinar.

In this webinar, I will:

🤔Help you understand what the closure announcement means for investors

đź“śUnpack the options they have provided you with, and what they mean

✍🏻Explain the different tax, product and investment considerations to work through before you do anything
